Personal Auto vs. Commercial Auto

Personal auto insurance is generally built around everyday life: commuting, family trips, errands. Commercial auto conversations start when a vehicle is used for work, carrying tools, making deliveries, visiting job sites or serving clients.

The line is not always obvious. A van registered in your own name but used for your trade, for example, sits in a situation with its own rules, and pretending it is purely personal can create problems later.

What matters most: how the vehicle is used, who owns it on paper, and who drives it. Those three answers usually point to the right conversation.
