What it means when a vehicle is financed

When a vehicle is financed, the lender usually keeps a financial interest in it until the loan is paid. That interest often appears in insurance conversations, because the lender may have requirements about how the vehicle is protected.

This is normal and very common, it simply means one more detail to mention when you talk with an agency. If you're not sure whether your vehicle counts as financed, that's fine too: 'I'm not sure' is a valid answer.

Bringing your financing information to the conversation helps the agency understand the full picture from the start.

Financed, leased or not sure? Bring the question, we'll sort it together.
